About the work
Working primarily with ceramics, I draw from folklore, superstition, magic, ancient petroglyphs and linguistic patterns.
I am drawn to forms and ideas that recur across millennia. Where meaning has been lost, folklore, speculation and magic take its place.
I make strange objects and instruments that remain unfinished until someone else joins it. An instrument waits to be played; a hagstone looked through; a bell rung.
Across everything I make, I am interested in creating work that feels quietly alive - objects that open small spaces for imagination, connection and transformation.
About the artist
My creative practice has spanned visual art, design and performance, and I am now working primarily with clay.
I studied at Griffith University Queensland College of Art before graduating with a BA in Languages and Applied Linguistics, and starting a career in data, records and technology. My interest in language continues to inform my practice, particularly my fascination with the persistence and transformation of words, symbols and meaning.
I co-founded Art Underground and Canberra Slamboree, and have created album covers, posters, oracle cards and performance poetry. In 2015 I performed at the National Folk Festival as an interdimensional fortune-telling bureaucrat.
In 2026 I was awarded Best Overall at the Canberra Potters Society Student Teacher Show.
